Sofa, so good...the best new sofas on the market!

Australia, we need to talk about your obsession with grey sofas! For years now grey has been the go to colour for sofas, I mean, there are other options! I understand the fear of spending a big chunk of cash on something that you will probably have for at least the next 10 years and you don't want to make a 'decorating mistake' but really, let's look at a few other ideas.

The reason grey is popular is because it is a 'neutral' colour. But what does that really mean? Mostly it translates to safe.

There are lots of other safe colours that I also consider pretty neutral. For example, blue. Everything from pale blue to navy, indigo and even closer to teal are all colours that go beautifully with other elements in your home from grey tile to timber floors, exposed brick, white, any range of orange, pinks, greens..you get the idea. Blue lends itself to any style of interior from modern contemporary to coastal Hampton's and Art Deco. Blue also looks great in linen, velvet and even cord.

There are also plenty of other more exciting options too! How about yellow or olive green, pink or coral? You are only limited to your imagination. A coloured sofa is a brilliant way to injects some colour life and personality into your interior be it a residential space or work space. It can be a terrific starting point for the rest of your interior too. Use that colour then to feed through the rest of your interior, in artworks, bedding, wallpaper, rugs. It can become a really easy reference point for making a space come together without too much thought.
