BRIEF: Our brief was `nothing to match'. They wanted a eclectic mix of old and new, warm and homely feel full of memories. They wanted us to show them how to incorporate family heirlooms into a modern interior.
A beautiful Queenslander with a busy family and young kids needed some love at Paddington. Our clients had a few lovely family antiques and treasures to work with and were ready to change some of their older pieces after years of wear with the children and their friends.
We started by reupholstering the cane outdoor setting in outdoor fabric and reusing the living room sofa onto the deck for more seating. A new outdoor table and chairs were added.
The front verandah cane chairs were also upholstered. In the more formal living room we mixed a black and white stipe sofa with armchairs covered in Indian woodblock print fabric in two colours. We rearranged the artwork so it could be better seen, added the beautiful green console and also added to the clients beloved basket collection and hung them there as well. New bespoke curtains, blinds, custom lamps and cushions were added to bedrooms.
